Sister Book

"The garden.....romantic and soft, covering all with its deep, wet, moist green.
The most sensual bed, a place to step into the softest step."

In an identical handmade book, I painted watercolors that are like visual notes about the photos. The watercolor book is called the Sister Book because it is a type of sibling to the original Photo Journal. Often the images in the two books merge to become one large picture. Each book contains forty pages. As I showed the books to friends, I heard my own spoken dialogue. I was expressing why I put images together. The images were in no chronological order. The order was more of a visual selection/examination of objects that reports aspects of the heritage of Japan.
